They are playable but will frustrate you a lot because they havent been properly updated for campaign since game 1 (most of the updates was for the multiplayer) and most expect them to be updated in game 3 or maybe in the final patch before game 3 where we might get a glimpse of their rework for game 3. The hardest factions right now due to campaign unbalances are Norsca, Chaos, Beastman and Wood Elves. Army comes equipped with Chaos Warriors, Chaos Warriors (Halberds), and Chosen. More difficult races are Dark elves, skaven, britonia, greenskins, tomb kings, vampires and vampire coast they all have unique mechanics to be mastered around their economy and how they play on the map. Leader Options: Archaon the Everchosen A powerful melee fighter and leader that has access to Lore of Fire spells. All these have straight forward economies and easy ways to deal with any threat and public order issues. Ill recommend you get a hold on the basics, do some normal difficulty campaign with the easy factions like, Reikland, Thorgrim, Tyrion, Krogar. You can easily confederate most of the electorate without any civil war and when chaos come have more than enough armies and economy to deal with them. If there’s one specific faction you want to play, wipe out that faction in the campaign by killing every one of its family. Ill say for me the easiest start after the patch is Reikland, youll deal with the rebellion, then have a province, you can easily just keep on doing diplomacy, just remember to keep a 2000 cash float for dilemmas and a army in the pass. Sounds like your campaign difficulty might be to high for you.
